Chipola Theatre Announces the 2026–2027 Season, Celebrating America 250

Described as "the greatest American play ever written," Our Town (October 2–4, 2026) presents the small town of Grover's Corners in three acts: "Daily Life," "Love and Marriage," and "Death and Eternity." The play depicts the simple daily lives of the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry, and eventually — in one of the most famous scenes in American theatre — die. ACT Fund members may redeem their tickets beginning Aug. 26. General tickets may be purchased at the CFA Box Office or online at beginning September 1.
Celebrate the American heartland in the Oscar- and Tony-nominated Footloose: The Musical (February 18–21, 2027). When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school — but not for the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, who is determined to exercise control over the town's youth. When the reverend's rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage his reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges pits a father longing for the son he lost against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him. To the rockin' rhythm of its Oscar- and Tony-nominated Top 40 score, augmented with dynamic new songs, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people while guiding them with a warm heart and open mind. ACT Fund members may redeem their tickets beginning Aug. 26. General tickets may be purchased at the CFA Box Office or online at beginning Jan. 19.
A pop-culture phenomenon comes to the musical stage in Schoolhouse Rock Live! (May 21–22, 2027). Based on the Emmy Award-winning 1970s Saturday-morning cartoon series that taught history, grammar, math, and more through clever, tuneful songs, Schoolhouse Rock Live! follows Tom, a nerve-wracked schoolteacher anxious about his first day of teaching. As he tries to relax by watching TV, various characters representing facets of his personality emerge from the set and show him how to win his students over with imagination and music — through such songs as "Just a Bill," "Lolly, Lolly, Lolly," and "Conjunction Junction." ACT Fund members may redeem their tickets beginning Aug. 26. General tickets may be purchased at the CFA Box Office or online at beginning Apr. 19.
