Chipola Brain Bowl Wins NAQT Florida Sectional Championship
The Â鶹ֱ²¥ Brain Bowl team earned first place at the NAQT Florida Sectional Championship held Jan. 24 at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, finishing 10–0 in a competitive 14-team field.
With the undefeated performance, Chipola secured an automatic bid to the Community College National Championship, scheduled for February 27–28 in Chicago, Illinois. Chipola enters the national tournament as the defending national champions.
Head Coach Stan Young credited the team’s preparation and focus. “This group competed with confidence and discipline all day,” Young said.
Team members include Devin Tharp, John Maupin, Ian Hatcher, and Jeremy Scurlock. Tharp and Scurlock each finished in the top five in individual scoring.
